Inside the opera house looking out onto the harbour From the balcony Another view from the balcony
We decided to start the day at the Opera House with a tour. It was really interesting - we were told all about the history and the architecture and shown the two theatres. We were really lucky because in the main theatre the Australian Ballet were warming up, and we were able to sit and watch them for a while. It was really funny to see them all dancing around in jogging bottoms and t-shirts! The other theatre was being set up for the Sergio Mendes concert this evening so that was pretty interesting too.

Then we caught a ferry over to Darling Harbour which was really nice as the stupid weather has improved a lot today. We sat on the boat looking at all the riverside houses and the bridge and opera house, enjoying the sunshine.

We got off the boat at Darling Harbour then walked over to the Chinese Gardens - these are really beautiful and peaceful. There are lots of lakes full of carp, lovely green plants and pretty pagodas. There was even a wedding going on in one of them!

After that we wandered back to the hotel. This evening we went to the Moon Market in the Rocks. There was live music from Richard Clapton and Daryl Braithwaite (from Sherbert) and the weekend market was open which was nice. After that we had an early night as we have to leave at 5am in the morning.
